No Man's Sky 1.1 is Pretty Good

The 1.1 foundations update came out yesterday for No Man's Sky and we've been playing it.

And it's pretty good.

The new update not only brings a building feature, freighters and a bunch of other features too. The new building features give players a goal to work to even after reaching the center as most things need blueprints to build.

Even for the people who hate mining can also benefit from the update. An auto miner can now be built in order to harvest massive deposits.

Here's update 1.1:

Weekly Roundup #16

We've been inactive this week due to a sickness going around, but here're some news stories you might be interested in.

First off the dino shooter Orion is getting an inventory wipe soon. Trek Industries announced the removal of certain items in the game for the new 2.0 update.

The items being removed are:

Ion Currency
Trek Credits
Inventory/Gear
Guardian Levels
Skills/Progression

Trek has offered a reward program to users where depending on what they had in the older version will be traded for certain items in the new version. The reset is due to augments for gear being used to exploit the virtual currency. You can read everything here.

We asked the developers when they plan to release the update and responded with a date of 20th December.

Lara Croft fans have been treated to a sale of all Tomb Raider games. The sale lets you purchase the games for up to 75% off and even lets you buy every Tomb Raider (except Rise of the Tomb Raider) for 81% off its original price!

This includes all DLCS.

Weekly Roundup #15

No Man's Sky internal update, Dishonored 2 and Steam gets a new look!

First up we have some more news about No Man's Sky. The seemingly dead open world exploration game got an 'internal update' on Steam. This means that the developer branch has been updated and is possibly being tested. Unfortunately we don't have the file size but we can predict that Hello Games has worked on this update for a long time.

Dishonored 2 launched on Friday and has received mixed reviews from over 3,000 gamers. The sequel to the 2012 action game has been under fire for bad optimization and crashing. Here's hoping it doesn't turn out like No Man's Sky.

Lastly Steam got a new look on the store this week. You can now customize your queue and hover over the games title to view the overall review (mostly positive etc.). In addition it also changed the layout and a bunch of other features were added.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is Free For The Weekend

The critically acclaimed Rainbow Six Siege is free on steam for the weekend (again).

When the next Rainbow Six game came out fans were hyped and the delivery of the game on December 1st, 2015 was rewarding for Ubisoft by receiving positive reviews all round.

The game carried on the tradition of swat teams and terrorists, however, this time you could play as both sides adding more play ability to the game. Some other cool features include weapon skins and the ability to add 'charms' to your guns

The game was free back in August and is returning again at a 50% off discount.

You can also buy Rainbow Six bundle at 34% off.

Squad is Free For The Weekend

Tactical team based shooter Squad is free alongside Rainbow Six: Seige until Sunday.

It's the weekend! Steam has announced that Squad, the 50v50 first-person shooter is free until Sunday.

Squad is usually compared to the realistic aspects of the popular Arma series but takes the gameplay in a different direction. Large-scale environments, 100 player battles, and built-in VoIP for speaking to teammates are just a few of the many features in Squad.

Interested? You can try it right now! And if you enjoy it you can purchase it for 50% off!

GFMSL #3

Last time on GFMSL we looked at Rocket League, the hugely successful sports/racing hybrid. This time I'm going to talk about Sid Meir's Civilization V.

Following the success of Civ 4 (a game I spent many hours in), Civ 5 impressed fans and thus received overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam.

Allowing players to be historic leaders, the game not only taught history but bend it aswell. For example, you can build the great wall of China around Moscow, or have Krakatoa being in the middle of the sea. The point is Civilization allows you to shape history the way you want it.

After playing 35 hours of the game (and continuing to play it), I'm going to put it in the good games section.

GFMSL #2

Welcome back to the second edition of GFMSL! Last time we looked at Shake Your Money Simulator 2016. This time we are going to look at Rocket League.

I purchased Rocket League last April after reading reviews about how addictive the game was. In the first week I played 9 hours, then I didn't play it for another 3 months.

I can't quite remember why I stopped playing, I think it was due to the fact I was addicted to Borderlands and used to play it 24/7. 2 weeks ago I started playing Rocket League again and that was when I knew what I was missing.

Everything from the decals to the extra game modes helps make the game enjoyable. not being a football fan myself I still, however find Rocket League addictive.

If you've never played Rocket League, it is a game that involves football (or soccer) and cars. Teams of 1,2,3 or 4 go against each other to compete for items and experience. There is also hockey and basketball available from the menu.

After playing 37 hours of Rocket League I'm going to place it in the good games category.

Weekly Roundup #14

Red Faction update, Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare and Owlboy.

First off Red Faction: Guerrilla got a surprise 7.5mb patch on Monday from the developers. The game released 7 years ago and lost support from its publisher in 2013 when they went bust. The surprise patch started off a discussion on Steam about if the game was going to get more multiplayer maps. We'll keep you updated on what's going on.

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare released last Friday and was given mixed reviews by both fans and critics alike. The game has been trying to win its fans back after the E3 trailer Dice released for Battlefield 1.

Finally, Owlboy released on Tuesday. D-Pads second game released to critical acclaim and is described as one of the most 'detailed' adventures of this era.
